Scott Daum
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
• Scott spent the first ten years of his career in corporate finance, helping build the Merchant Banking unit of GE Capital, the predecessor to Antares Capital. During this time there, Scott was involved in account management, risk underwriting, and new business development.
• Subsequently, as a partner at Parallel49 Equity, where he spent the last 18 years, he has been involved in all aspects of business development, acquisitions, operations, and the investment, divestiture and management decisions of the firm.
• Scott obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating summa cum laude (#1 in the School of Business). While at GE, he obtained a Masters of Business Administration, with honors, from the University of Chicago – Booth School of Business.
• He lives in Lake Forest, Illinois with his wife Kelly and their three daughters.
Ian Adelson
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
• Ian spent the first ten years of his career as an institutional investor, including the $6B hedge fund Kingdon Capital, Societe Generale’s fixed income proprietary trading desk with a $120B portfolio and the $1B private equity firm Atlas Merchant Capital.
• Most recently, Mr. Adelson worked in M&A and Strategy for UES, which was named the #1 firm on the Zweig Group Hot List for fastest growing firms in the Engineering & Construction industry in 2022 and 2023. UES was listed as #36 on ENR’s 2023 Top 500 design firms.
• Previously, Ian worked in M&A for Marcus & Millichap, a publicly traded real estate services company.
• Ian obtained a Masters in Applied Mathematics from New York University, a Masters in International Affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelors in Mathematics and Computer Science from Emory University.
• He lives in Parkland, Florida with his wife Courtney and their two children.
Rob Davis
Co-Founder & Managing Partner
• Rob is an accomplished M&A lawyer whose career has spanned twenty-five years working on hundreds of transactions in the middle and lower middle market.
• Rob began his career at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago in the private equity practice where he eventually became a partner. He spent the last 14 years of his practice at DLA Piper where he served as one of the vice-chairs of the firm’s nationally recognized private equity practice.
• In addition to guiding his clients through numerous acquisitions and sales, Rob has acted as de facto outside general counsel helping these companies navigate a myriad of legal and business issues.
• Rob obtained an A.B. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University and a joint JD/MBA degree from the University of Georgia where he served on the Law Review and graduated magna cum laude.
• Rob lives in Lake Bluff, Illinois with his wife and their three dogs (as their three young adult children are off on their own adventures). Rob previously served as a volunteer firefighter with the Lake Bluff Fire Department and remains actively involved in several literacy-focused not-for-profit organizations. Rob also serves from time to time as a community DJ on the local college radio station (WMXM).
John Buergler
Operating Partner
• After graduating from West Point and spending 7 years as an Attack Helicopter officer overseas and in the US, John transitioned to corporate finance via GE’s Financial Management program completing strategic finance, FP&A and CFO roles at NBC Universal, Bloomberg Media/Ventures & Univision Communications.
• At Univision Local Media John led the company’s TV Spectrum licensing strategy & implementation of NextGen TV. Over 5 years John and team generated $0.5B in proceeds from asset sales, licensing partnerships and direct to consumer initiatives.
• Most recently John served as the CFO of UnitedMasters - a technology platform that provides an operating system for independent artists and a marketplace to connect the world’s biggest brands and sports league with sports, youth and music culture. During his tenure the team completed B and C rounds with Apple and Andreesen Horowitz, more than doubled revenue, expanded internationally and tripled headcount.
• He splits his time between NYC Metro and Texas, maintaining proficiency as a private pilot and pursuing adventures with his wife Catherine & recent college grads Eva & Johnny
Daniel Timm
Operating Partner
• Dan has 25+ years of finance, accounting, operations, and strategy experience; in which he oversaw the annual corporate budgeting processes at MicroStrategy and FTI Consulting, helped guide the turnaround and growth of 3 professional services divisions at CPA Global, led the Americas Finance Team for Coffey International, and helped build the Strategy and Transformation Team for FTI Consulting.
• Most recently, Dan’s focus has been supporting small to medium sized organizations through the buy-side and sell-side M&A process from diligence, to quality of earnings, and business integration.
• Dan obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio, passed the Certified Public Accounting Exam, and earned a Masters of Business Administration from the George Washington University.
• He lives in Northern Virginia with his wife Irene and their son.
Brendan Sugrue
Operating Partner
• Brendan Sugrue is a hands-on operations executive with a strong strategic mindset and accomplished track record of leading manufacturing organizations in the medical device, building products and engineering sectors.
• Brendan was the Global Vice President of Operations for the medical device manufacturer Hollister Inc. Where he managed manufacturing, supply chain and engineering for the corporation for over 20 years. Prior to this he led manufacturing organizations in the UK and Ireland.
• Brendan has significant experience in helping organizations build long term capability, improve operating performance, overcome manufacturing and supply chain challenges with a strong focus on the customer.
• Brendan is originally from the West of Ireland where he graduated as an Engineer and completed his Master’s Degree in Management at Trinity College Dublin.
• He lives in Lake Bluff, Illinois with his wife Beverley and their three children.
Jacopo Leonardi
Operating Advisor
• Jacopo (“Jac”) is a proven healthcare and life science C-suite executive with a 28-year track record of accelerating growth for new ventures and established businesses across a variety of sectors – including Immunology, Rare Diseases, Oncology, and Neuroscience.
• Jac’s cross functional leadership and impact spans early-stage discovery research through clinical development, and commercial launch with several industry-leading life science companies including Baxalta, Baxter, Eli Lilly, and J&J as well as early-stage startups.
• Jac is the Chief Executive Officer of 4D Path, a company focused on revolutionizing cancer care with the development of a next generation tumor response prediction platform to personalize care for each patient. In addition to his CEO duties at 4D Path, Jac serves as a Venture Advisor to Agent Capital and a Healthcare Advisor to CVC Capital Partners.
• Prior to his most recent operating and venture capital roles, Jac served on boards and in executive leadership across multiple companies including Baxalta (NYSE: BXLT), a $6B global biopharmaceutical company, where he was Executive Vice President and President of Immunology leading a fast growing $2.6B Global Division.
• Jac received his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and Bachelor of Science from Rutgers College, where he was recognized as a Henry Rutgers Honors Scholar.
• Jac lives in Lake Forest, Illinois with his wife, Leslie and their French Bulldog, Louie as their four grown children have moved on to new and exciting adventures.
Mike Reardon
Operating Advisor
• Mike Reardon is a well respected and accomplished leader in the highly fragmented water industry, with over 25 years of experience in multiple sectors of water.
• Mike helped build and lead U.S. Filter (NYSE: USF), the largest and most successful roll-up story in the water industry. After selling to Vivendi he ran and grew Culligan until it was sold in 2004. He later built Triwater Holdings, another successful water platform company.
• Mike is active in the water industry and has served as a board member/advisor to multiple companies and industry organizations including Miox, Aqua Membranes, Imagine H2O, Mazarine Ventures and others.
• Mike is a CPA, earned a BS at California State Polytechnic University and is a graduate of Kellogg Management Institute at Northwestern University.
• He lives in Lake Forest, Illinois with his wife.
Charles Alutto

• Charlie Alutto is a customer-centric and proven global senior business executive, former CEO and President of a $3.6B global company (US, Europe, LatAm, and Asia).
• Charlie helped build and lead Stericycle (NASDAQ: SRCL), into the largest and most successful medical waste management company in the world.
• Charlie is a board member for several companies including Universal Air Conditioner, Safety Marking, Proficient Auto Logistics, VLS Environmental Solutions and Union Compress Warehouse.
• Charlie earned his BS in Finance at Providence College and his MBA from St. John’s University.
• He lives in Lake Forest, Illinois with his wife Jorie and their four children.
